If you happen to be stuck at Crewe station for a while (it's not as common as it used to be for Lancaster-based travellers), you can try the porridge at the Gourmet Coffee kiosk. They use a carton of Stoat's porridge (you can see it on the shelf at upper left, with some Golden Syrup), and mix it with hot frothed milk.
At first it seems rather stodgy (see below), but if you wait a bit and stir it with a spoon, it is a plausible bowl of porridge. It seems very rich (even without the Golden Syrup), perhaps because I would usually use half milk and half water, not all milk.
The coffee is pretty good too. But I won't look for occasions to get stuck at Crewe.
