I teach in the Department of Linguistics and Modern English Language at Lancaster University, UK.

My usual sources of news are the (UK) Guardian Weekly, the regular edition of the Guardian on Saturday, the BBC 'Today' Programme from about 7 am to 8:30 am each day, various other bits of the BBC that coincide with cooking and washing up, and podcasts of 'From Our Own Correspondent' from the BBC and 'On the Media' from WNYC (PBS in New York).
